This Beginners Series is a great place to begin your yoga practice or revisit fundamentals of posture, breath and focus. During this special class series, you will learn details of alignment, how to connect breath with postures and movement, and general guidelines to keep you safe and confident while you practice.

This 2.5 hr workshop will introduce you to the sounds and shapes of the Sanskrit language.
We will explore the alphabet and structure of words learning how to read and pronounce correctly simple chants. You will also become more familiar with Devanagari learning how to recognize letters and write some short words.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is one of the key texts in the philosophical system of yoga. It offers a clear methodology for understanding the movement of the mind and practical suggestions for how we can bring that movement under control. Probably composed more than 2000 years ago it still contains many relevant jewels.
In this 2.5hr workshop you will gain some insight into who Patanjali might have been and an overview of the Yoga Sutras. We will look at the essential philosophical themes and some specific sutras that can support us in our practice today.
